Yesterday I ran across a short poem in an email exchange I had with a poet-friend.
It went like this:

Forgot to add - I don't have text messaging service. Maybe next decade.

And finding that little guy got me thinking about found poems in general. I've run across many gems in the genre (the above is NOT one) and remembered Annie Dillard's little book of found poems. Mornings Like This: Found Poems.
In that book, "Dash It!" opens with this stanza:
How wonderfully it was all arranged that each
Of us had not too long to live. This is one
Of the main stages-the shortness of the day.
The whole wood was whispering: "Dash it!, dash it…"
What fun Annie must have had running across that and nudging it into a poetic form (the poem is composed of four quatrains).
This holiday weekend (in the U.S. anyway), why not relax and have some fun with found poems. Go out and find a poem today. Maybe in the Sunday newspaper. Or on a billboard. Or the instructions to your weed whacker. A recipe. A text message or IM snippet.
